Arising from a challenge, I planned to take leave with the hubs and do the MacRitchie Trail in the early morning, then the Marina Bay circuit, followed by lunch and then Punggol/Coney Island in the early evening one day last year (this is a belated post, but better late than never eh?). Thought the 15-18km would be quite doable, especially since our Coast-to-Coast feat last December.
Off we went!
MacRitchie Prunus Trail
The beautiful morning sun rays evoked a real sense of wonder. First as they shone through the trees onto the plant-covered water.
As we rounded another bend, here were the rays on a path.
Indeed, Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
And I will walk in Your light, by Your grace.
Really love the natural colour.
Finally after about an hour, we completed the 5.5km required.
We then made our way down to the Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay area to complete the next trail. Ok so this was not so much the usual primary or secondary rainforest nature trail, but it qualified as an outdoor walk!

Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay
The obligatory shot at the Bay.
Lots of fun dropping by Gardens by the Bay as well, since I managed to procure timely corporate passes for complimentary entry.
Many gorgeous flowers and tulips.
Realised that GPS works worst in buildings, probably due to all sorts of interference from other wifi signals and the like. But yup, 6km, done and dusted.
Then we went for lunch at old airport road hawker centre, and were contemplating whether to risk a trip to Punggol Coney Island. The sky looked ominous but we thought we’d give it a shot. En route, we realised that the storm clouds were coming in, so we abandoned ship and went home.

Coney Island
On Sunday morning less than a week later, we dragged the kids for a walk at the Boardwalk and into Coney Island. Here they are, investigating millipedes. They counted a grand total of more than 40 by the time we left!
This was actually our first time exploring the entirety of Coney Island instead of just the tip of it near the entrance.
It was a good refreshing walk in this tiny speck of a coniferous βislandβ for me!
The hubs and I had a great time chatting and just soaking in nature, as well as exercising those leg and heart muscles. Hope this inspires you to lace up your walking sneakers and get out to enjoy the great outdoors! π
