A friend who lived in Japan recommended this place to us, for our one-splurge meal during our trip. She kindly helped us make reservations (website was all in Japanese) and after a little trek from the train station, we found the place!
The restaurant had good reviews on TripAdvisor as well, so we were really looking forward to our meal. A slight pout here from our friend probably cos she was hungry.
Nice decor.
It is in the Ginza area and clearly a favourite of the locals who engaged in familiar and friendly banter with the experienced chef. Unlike some solemn chefs, this one was very smiley in welcoming us.
The hubs and I both ordered the omakase menu (about $60 each, though there were pricier ones), whilst we ordered a bara chirashi for the girls to share. The waitress was really sweet to our kids and we could tell that she loved children.
The food was really good!
The highlight of the entire meal was the uni- the sweetest that I’ve ever tasted, without the usual briny-ness.
My attempt at art with shells.
The restaurant had really good reviews on TripAdvisor as well – although I wouldn’t say that it was the best Omakase I’ve ever had in my life, it was a really pleasant meal where we felt very well taken care of!
