I pass by a scenic part of town every morning. Some days, the view is just plain gorgeous.
Some days, it looks more like dusky sunset than dawning sunrise, #nofilter either.
The concentric ‘halos’ around the sun below make it look like an egg huh?
Some days, it looks like the sun is being weighed under by massively heavy clouds, and it echoes a sense of melancholy, if not mild depressive thoughts. Which can be strangely comforting when you’re not feeling too chirpy.
Some days, the sky is a placid pastel. Shades of watercolour, brushed and blended into soothing hues.
I miss the sea view I used to have, after changing departments, but I do appreciate the sunrise views I now get to see en route to work.
Whatever the look of that particular morning, I am reminded to be thankful every morning, for a new day.
It reminds me of a song, and a verse.
Like the sun, that rises everyday
You are so faithful, Lord you are faithful
Like the rain, that you send
And every breath that I take
You are so faithful, O Lord
And Lamentations 3:22-23, which says:
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
Whatever your circumstances, whether you are in deep sorrow, aggravating difficulty, or just weary from mundane routine, let us all give thanks for a new day. Because every new day brings with it hope, and time that must be cherished.
In particular, the devastation in Nepal is saddening, and reminds us all of how fleeting life is. All it seems we can do for them is pray (for strength, for rescue, and most importantly for hearts to turn to God) and give. And treasure those near and dear to us, for grace has allowed them to be present in our lives for yet another new day.

Feeling thankful indeed. Very nice pictures! And I like that disclaimer at the end. Ha.
