This is our latest find. The ambience is near zero, but the pratas are a perfect 10.
There is an outlet at Upper Thomson Road, and one newly opened at Rail Mall, but the one we visited (photo of shopfront as above) was at Jalan Tua Kong (in the same row of shophouses as Blooie’s, for those familiar with the area). This outlet has also recently been Halal-certified, full marks for inclusion.
The menu is extensive! We ordered the Portabello Mozzarella Cheese Prata ($5), and the Plaster Blaster ($5).
The prata chock full of portabello mushrooms and mozzarella cheese was yummy, but the star of our breakfast was the Plaster Blaster. Which features one of the best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever tasted (poached as professionally as in any Orchard Road cafe), 2 generous thick slices of turkey ham, and hollandaise sauce which was really like icing atop a cake. All on a bed of delicious fluffy prata.
I couldn’t believe it was priced at $5. A plate of Eggs Benedict (of similar quality) regularly goes for $15 or more. Everything we had there was so delish – we will definitely be back. I want to try their Ultimate Murtabak, which sounds super.
Most of the eatery is air-conditioned, which has its pros and cons, but there are also three tables (that can seat up to 4 pax each) outside the shop. The eatery is located along a row of shophouses tucked deep inside a private estate, so it’s best to check out its exact location on a map before venturing there.
Let me know if you enjoy their food as much as we did!
