We were thrilled to be back at Resin Play, this time for a Resin Art Pouring Workshop!
This workshop is Christmas themed as well!
There’s something for everyone at this workshop – you can go along with friends and family, and choose to do Resin Art on Canvas, Coasters or Christmas Ornaments, which make for great gifts in this season!
What is the same is that all three use similar Resin Pouring and blending techniques, with the help of a heat tool.
The girls were so excited to go to Resin Play again, which is decked out to celebrate Christmas!
Our workshop trainer was Nicole, who was very patient and detailed in explaining all the steps to us!
Next she did a detailed demonstration on how to make two types of coasters, the various options we had to obtain the look we’d like to go for, and what pitfalls to watch out for. We learnt about negative space for the black acrylic galaxy coasters, how to choose complimentary colours and an accent colour, as well as techniques on using the heat tool to blend effectively!
There were really beautiful samples to inspire us too!
Soon the girls were creating their art pieces in earnest.
Lots of focus and concentration, but they always find it fun and therapeutic to choose your own artist palette of colours and see them magically transform into a finished work!
Sometimes the results are unexpected, but that is certainly part and parcel of the creative process. So as long as you keep an open mind, you’ll find that an enjoyable aspect too, and await with bated breath on what providence has in store for you.
Before you know it, 2 hours have passed in a jiffy, and we are done!
A reminder to Stay Curious for surely curiosity can’t kill a cat with nine lives.
There’s so much to admire in the shop, so next up was shopping time! Aren’t these simply lovely?
If you prefer crafting in the comfort of your home, Resin Play sells craft kits too – they have the Flowers Forever resin coaster kit, the Blooming Alcohol Ink resin coaster kit, Cosmic Galaxy resin coaster kit, as well as Seascape Escapade coaster kit (all pictured below) and many more. There are helpful instructional videos on their website, so you don’t have to worry about getting lost!
That day, we bought some Christmas Ornaments and Terrazzo Coasters from the sample sale, where samples are priced at a steal!
I returned on another to collect the coasters as they take 24 hours to cure – the girls loved what they made and we’ve been happily using them since! The resin used at Resin Play is of high quality and therefore very durable – you can be sure what you make will last a long, long time.
So do check out the many workshops they have in November and December, and sign up soon if you’re keen cos you’ll be able to see that each workshop doesn’t have many slots left once you try to “add to cart”!
Have a lovely time, and a very Merry Christmas to one and all.
