I’m not quite sure when they started pushing out girly Lego, but I’ve only become aware of it in the past year or so.
A friend bought K a very awesome “book and lego set” for Christmas – where larger than A4 size book tells a story of the adventures of two intrepid girls. There are 5 stories in all, and thus 5 permutations of little “sets” that can be created with the pieces that come with the book.
K and I (ok mostly I) have made 4 sets so far, and I am continually amazed at how versatile the pieces are. Cups can be inverted to portray flames in a fireplace, arch pieces can become branches, and whilst there are many familiar ‘standard blocks’, the addition of new “leaves” and curved bricks (even a “pink diamond”) lend an interesting twist to the creative process.
So here they are, the girls having found “treasure” (crown and diamond) hidden in a “dark cave”, where the “salmon” swim upstream at a “waterfall”…
Sometimes I find that I’m enjoying my second childhood though my kids’ toys, a little too much!
Lovely! I loved Lego growing up. I loved making houses.
Mine are boys, so I didn’t get to the enjoy these 🙁 Look like really really fun!!
Boys are really into the Ninjago versions right? I think the star wars ones are cool too!
Oh how cute! What’s the book called and do you know where I can get a set? I was kinda looking forward to you ending your post with a giveaway!
Hee – unfortunately my blog is not hot enough. I went to google… it’s this set! http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Friends-Brickmaster-Lego/dp/0756692547
Ohh so nice! I admit I’m reliving my 2nd childhood to through all their toys. :p your girls are blessed, such a nice lego set, & those vintage toys you shared last time!
Yeah I am so totally reliving my 2nd childhood with all my toys and my kids toys! hahaha
