Last year, we presented this song in a voice quartet during Christmas service. Love the lyrics, and I hope you do too.
Welcome to our World
Tears are falling, hearts are breaking
How we need to hear from God
You’ve been promised, we’ve been waiting
Welcome Holy Child
Hope that you don’t mind our manger
How I wish we would have known
But long-awaited Holy Stranger
Make Yourself at home
Bring Your peace into our violence
Bid our hungry souls be filled
Word now breaking Heaven’s silence
Welcome to our world
Fragile finger sent to heal us
Tender brow prepared for thorn
Tiny heart whose blood will save us
Unto us is born
So wrap our injured flesh around You
Breathe our air and walk our sod
Rob our sin and make us holy
Perfect Son of God
Welcome to our world
You can also enjoy it audibly here. 🙂
This year, am singing again with the church choir, a medley of carols and a choir version of a familiar worship piece. Also joining a voice quartet to present two dramatised songs that are rather in the vein of Les Miserables. Privileged to present a short solo too, a gentle lullaby depicting a young mother holding her child, with the following meaningful lyrics:
When she held her child
She held the King of Kings
God’s only Son, the Holy One
of Whom the angels singAnd when she spoke His name
the hosts of heaven smiled
the Hope of man was in her hands
when she held her Child
Have a blessed Christmas.
