I’ve heard about this shop for a while, but somehow never managed to squeeze in a visit. So I made a special effort to, one lunchtime, and loved the place!
It is one of the few cat-friendly places in Singapore, and I quite like cats, so the little resident cat roaming around didn’t bother me at all.
In fact, I thought he/she lent a very special air to the place! How many shops do you know have cats freely lounging around right?
Storefront and resident meow |
They sell a whole range of electic things, from passport holders to boxes for trinkets, from lovely printed imported fabric to colour mobiles for a child’s room.
Whimsical wonderland of trinkets and books inside |
This is a shop with a strong local presence too. There were these cute ang ku kueh accessories (top right), and many books by local authors displayed prominently, including the three books in the Balik Kampung series which I really enjoyed.
Sketchbooks of heartland estates, cute patterned cloth, and see what I bought! |
I hadn’t known that folks had come up with a whole series of sketchbooks on various estates, including Bedok, Tiong Bahru and the like. It’s wonderful that buildings and neighbourhoods are captured for posterity not just through the lens of local photographers, but in the sketches of local artists too.
A wonderful space to lose yourself in.

This shop is so interesting. Looks like a little hole in the wall shop that I’ll like. Thanks for sharing this gem.
Welcome! Always happy to profile little local enterprises!
Ooooh! Looks like a nice place to visit if you aren’t accompanied by two sets of touchyfeely little fingers.
