Welcome to the newest and snazziest trampoline park in town! We attended the media preview launch of Bounce Singapore, which occupies the entire 9th storey at Cineleisure Orchard. The girls were well excited, and BOUNCE did not disappoint!
Did you know that according to NASA (yes, the space agency), 10 minutes bouncing on a trampoline is a better cardiovascular workout than 33 minutes of running? And though it provides an intense workout for the muscles and bones, the mat or pad absorbs 80 per cent of the shock from the rebound. So, unlike jogging or playing tennis, trampolining provides your body with an all-round workout while reducing the risk of injury to your joints, especially in your ankles and knees. Wow.
At the risk of sounding ditzy, one of my favourite aspects of BOUNCE are the official grip socks that we were given at entry. Those little lime green dots on the soles are too cute! These socks are required at all times whilst on the trampolines, and can be kept till the next time we visit BOUNCE again.
K and B went first to the Big Bag, where they leapt free-spiritedly into this huge air-filled cushion. There were folks doing double somersaults here! Was well impressed.
There’s a Dodge Ball sector as well. Kids were briefed before the game started. I thought there was pretty good crowd control and regulation. Up to 16 kids can participate in Dodge Ball at any one time, and two teams get to throw cute yellow balls at one another – jump to avoid them!
I loved this quote on the wall (below): “The harder you fall, the higher you bounce.” Word.
The area above is the Free Jumping Arena, which has 350 square metres of trampolines, including wall ones, so you can literally bounce off the walls. Although the place can get crowded, there are enough staff on duty to make sure that a strict number of kids/adults are allowed into the Free Jumping Arena at any one time. Folks get to bounce for 5 minutes, and then the next batch gets to go. So although there might be queues, one never needs to queue very long for a turn!
In the photo below, you can see someone leaping towards the yellow rod in the Leap of Faith, which is a 5 metres tall test of sheer guts. Participants are safely harnessed of course! There is also an X-Park which is like a cool Ninja Warrior obstacle course, which we didn’t get to try. Look at the flying fox and horizontal rock wall below! Would love to go through the entire course the next time we visit, which should be real soon!
BOUNCE is certainly one of the coolest places to be – there’s even a DJ to ensure that the right beats accompany your workout.
Here’s what the ticketing counter looks like, so head for it once you enter. Socks and wrist tags are issued there.
Tip: Fill up your waiver form online, so you can go straight to the counters shown below to get your entry processed! That helps to maximise your jumping time. Who wants to spend time at Bounce filling up forms?!
There is also a spacious cafe area where parents can rest and relax whilst their kids bounce themselves silly.
Thanks for the invite BOUNCE Singapore! We had a jumpin’ great time!
