Have you heard of this new art studio on the block?
They are called Artify, and I think what sets it apart from the rest is how much heart <3 <3 <3 goes into their work!
Their email inviting the kids to their holiday camps was one of the warmest and most sincere emails I’ve ever received from a company. And their programmes reflect their ethos well.
To begin with, they have a charity arm called Heartify that does some really good work!
One of Heartify’s initiatives is “Prints with Heart”. It functions like a micro-fundraiser by artists of all ages, for a charity of their choice. Artists effectively donate their royalty (perhaps 10% of retail price) and Heartify doubles it, allowing the charity partner to receive 20% of the retail price.
With each purchase, the buyer is both encouraging an artist and supporting a great cause, plus getting unique art – how awesome is that?!
Artify conducts a mind-blowingly wide range of art programmes, from School Holiday Art Camps, to Regular Art Classes (for ages 4-12), a Free Trial Class, Parent and Child Classes, Art Jamming… and those are just for kids! For adults, they offer sessions for corporate retreats, or the Liberty Art Jam, where they provide space, music, materials (canvas, easels, paint) and light refreshments for a fun time out.
Some highlights – for toddlers, there is the RAWR Party May 2016, where you get to make play-dough, and experiment with Shaving Cream Marbling on Canvas! How fun is that! A 2 hour session costs just $38 for a parent-and-child pair.
For Father’s Day, mums and their kids get together to make something special for Daddy – kids make a Terrarium, and mums make a personalised rubber stamp! The icing on the cake is that a portion of the proceeds will go to Special Seeds, which is co-run by my lovely friend Mary.
This had me at Hello, so we’ve signed up for that! This special event is run on a Pay As You Wish basis, with a suggested contribution of $70 so that they can better support Special Seeds.
Their Holiday Art Camps this June also sound super fun.
