It was a usual Sunday early morning.
K donned her cheery swimsuit and jumped into the water like a happy duck.
B was not feeling too well that morning, so Mummy said she couldn’t play with water.
They went exploring instead.
And guess what they came across?
A SLUG! Oh yes, a slug in it’s full Slug-Glory, perfect with slimy slug trail behind.
B is ever such a brave girl. So she gladly touched the little slug when Mummy said she could.
The slug got a shock! And shrunk its feelers back, made itself smaller, and stopped moving. It was pretending to be dead. Just in case B wanted to eat it.
But no. Little Miss (or Mister?) Slug need not have been afraid. B just wanted to say “Hi”. It was nice to meet a slug for the first time.
Over in the pool, K was learning how to swim with great gusto.
Kick! Kick! Kick! She went.
Mei Mei could only watch wistfully, as Jie Jie kicked and swam through the water, with the help of her orange float.
Oh well, at least she did get to meet a slug that day.
I think kids are so cute. They have no preconceived notions about what is clean and dirty. Much of it is learnt from watching our reactions and it is great that you let her touch it. What an experience!
Hee, I’ve been telling them “lizards are our friends cos they eat mosquitos” though I don’t really like slimy lizards.
I have no qualms squashing a cockroach, so I hope they become like me in that respect too!
